I was the second one up this morning. Not because I had to be. We all got to bed late last night and everyone slept in. Only one of the boys was up before me, and he did not drag me out of bed. I just wanted to get up, so I did. I wandered into the kitchen to find that #1 had sweetly set out breakfast for me. At the setting was also his gift to me, accompanied by a note.
Here is a very sincere love note from my boy. Often, when he is in trouble…after he has been disciplined and he feels that the world is crashing down around him and that nobody loves him…I remind him that nobody is perfect, that everybody makes mistakes, and that I will always love him, even when he’s naughty, even when I don’t like something he has done. I love to see that the life lessons I try to teach him are sinking in. I love the sincerity of this letter and its author. These are the perfect words from my boy on this day.
