“I like to do naughty things,”
said my three-year-old today, after cutting the tape measure and thus rendering it useless. My hope is that when he turns four (I’m counting down the days) that he will have a similar transformation as his older brother had at said milestone. After a most tiring four years, #1 had a sudden disinclination to do naughty things upon his fourth birthday, and his behavior in general improved dramatically.
#2 is actually a very good boy, and his “naughty” things do not even fall into the same category as those of #1, which include, but are not limited to the following: wasting almost an entire roll of 39¢ sticker stamps by sticking them all over the kitchen floor (they were destroyed in the process of removal); taking a black Sharpie marker to the kitchen floor, cupboards, appliances, carpet and T.V.; smearing a tub a Vaseline all over the bathroom mirror and floor; destroying my blush in the process of applying it to his person; painting the family room carpet, T.V., numerous toys, and his little brother blue (with craft paint that I didn’t even know was in the house…I think he found it on top of the very high kitchen cabinets); getting into the kitchen spices and playing mix and match with them; locking me out of the house…with his baby brother inside, as well as a pot of boiling water on the stove.
#3 seems to be exhibiting some of the same mischief making tendencies as #1, though without quite such horrid manifestations, yet; I’ve become lax with #2…I think I need to start watching out more diligently again.
