So I had a tough run this morning, and didn’t even end up with a great time to show for it. There was a very strong, stiff and loud wind that I was running against for much of it. I did discover a tip though, and I’ll share.
When running against the wind, turn your head a little to the side, so that you don’t hear the wind so loud.
It made a huge difference for me mentally. Without that super load rushing wind in my head, it didn’t seem like I was running against such a strong force anymore.
On a better note, I had a fantastic run on Tuesday. Though it was short, only 2.3 miles, the first 1/2 mile and last 1/2 mile were significant hill, I was pushing the boys...and I did it at an 8:30 pace nonetheless. That’s only about 40 seconds slower than my PR pace on that course, without the boys. Admittedly, the workout was more anaerobic than aerobic, and it hurt, but I was just trying to see what I could do. And I was very pleased with the result.
